  • Hands down the best peeler I've ever used! After 15 years in the cooking game, I know my way around a potato. Best part is, I received what I thought was an auto generated email thanking me for my purchase from Founder Brian Davis. I wrote back and said thanks....turns out, it was really him! Good product. Personal touch, which is huge for me in this automated age.
  • This little tool is comfortable to hold and peels the toughest peels (winter squash, rutabagas) as well as the thinnest (kiwis, potatoes) very easily. I put mine in the dishwasher and it's come out fine. I didn't want to have to hand dry a blade as sharp as this, I'd peel off my hand.....be careful. But it works really well and I'm happy I bought it.
  • This must be the world's sharpest peeler. I share this as a cautionary tale! My husband sliced a portion of his finger off using this peeler and had to get his finger tip cauterized. After reviewing some other comments, the engineering team may want to take a look at this design. It's incredibly sharp and does its job, but yikes! Be careful using it.
  • Also the blades are super sharp - while rinsing under a sink, I ran my thumb lightly over what I thought was the blunt metal edge of the peeler to make sure the sticky mango juice was not remaining but I got too close to the blade by accident and it peeled off a piece of my thumb. Thankfully, even that was so thin, I didn't even bleed and it didn't even get deep enough for me to get pain like with a papercut - it literally just sliced off a piece of my top skin without hitting any nerves. With this type of sharp, thin slicing, I might have to get another one to try it on the calluses of my feet!
  • Best peeler ever! Nice, big and solid handle to hold. I love that it swivels. I had a very old swivel peeler that I finally needed to replace and got a stationary peeler. They take off big chunks of food with the peel and not easy to use on odd shaped foods. As you can see, this one only takes a thin layer, and when working with very small foods like kiwis, that's a pretty important feature.
  • I purchased this peeler after my current peeler bit the dust one day in the middle of peeling potatoes for dinner. I was super bummed because I thought it was the best peeler I had ever purchased and was no longer available to purchase.Well it may have been- until this little baby arrived. It glides down vegetables in a way that I can’t even explain... and the peels just fall out of the blade without any work or shaking at all. It fits great in my hand and is super easy to clean.I plan on buying one for my mom and sister because no one you know should be living without this peeler.
  • I love it! This is the first time I ever bought a Y peeler and wasn't sure if it would be easy to use or not. This is so easy to use and so sharp! I peeled 10 apples and it was a breeze to do. The worst thing I had to do was worry that my nails would get in the way (which they don't, but this is sharp enough to nick them for sure). This gadget just removes the peel itself so almost my entire apple was intact. I could kick myself for being so lazy to not buy a peeler sooner because I can't believe how much produce I have wasted by cutting off the skin instead of using a peeler. It comes with a little plastic covering for the blades which I know I will lose :) If you want to come into the 20th century - and not be so lazy - you won't be disappointed at all in getting this peeler. It's super sharp which makes it fast, it's easy to grip and it does a fantastic job.
  • This is the easiest and fastest way in the world to peel potatoes. I was using a knife before but it took longer and I was losing too much of the potato itself. Thanks to the guard on this, that's not the problem. I always cut myself so I didn't like using knives because the risk is higher. Ironically, I cut myself with this because I got over confident and was peeling them so fast that I sliced a finger holding the potato when I came down too fast. I don't think that would be a problem for most people, I'm just *special*. It was user error rather than design error. It reinforced to me how sharp this actually is... it's not dull like some people say. It's a great Peeler and I would buy again. It definitely gets the job done and fast! Just don't get tooooo confident. ;)
  • As you can see, it has a raised 'spoke' one side to protect fingers (and works quite well). Be aware- this is NOT an ambidextrous tool- made for 'righties' (which I am). Very high quality build, and the 'blades are VERY SHARP- it comes with a semi-inconvenient plastic cover for the blades [I imagine ANYONE with 'arthritis will struggle to remove, much less reinstalling it]- this may be solely for shipping purposes however. The blades seem to hold their edge very well [using the shield]. Highly recommended! Light-years better than the ones my mum/gran' used to buy....
  • Look people these are made out of a strong steel that holds it edge for a long time that's what makes it so great. Unfortunately you have to take care of them differently because of that. You can't let them sit wet after washing or leave in the dishwasher. Simple design that works great. Rinse it off when done and pat dry and you'll be golden.
  • These peeler are an industry staple in the Chef world, and are the most cost effective and best product to use for peeling.I buy them in packs of 3, not because they wear out or break, but because Chefs without one will usually pocket one after they use them for the first time.Sometimes there are issues with the blade popping out, but this is not common, and is well worth the risk.A must-buy for professional work, or home cooks trying to find a good option for replacing their old peeler.
  • I used this peeler on asparagus and I was totally wowed. Not sure how long it will retain the wow factor, but I will replace with the same product when it becomes "just okay."
